This may include helping parents understand the impact of conflict, reducing behaviors that reinforce estrangement, correcting distorted narratives, and facilitating low‑pressure bonding activities that allow the child to experience the parent in a safe, positive way.

• Implementing Safety Planning to Prevent Future Problems. Safety planning focuses on identifying triggers and high‑risk situations, setting clear behavioral expectations during exchanges and communication, and outlining steps to follow if conflict escalates. Specialists also help families establish safe communication channels, use structured parenting plans that minimize ambiguity, and coordinate with courts or other professionals when additional oversight is needed.
