Meet Anne Fogarty and Andrea M. C. Johnson

Anne Fogarty, MSW, LSW

Clinical Social Worker

Anne Fogarty has been working at Lowenstein & Associates since 2021. Prior to that she worked briefly at a school in Grove City and as a clinical social worker at Buckeye Ranch for 7 years. During that time, she became certified in trauma-informed therapy. Today she focuses on a therapeutic model that uses trauma-informed care and solution-focused therapy, along with a combination of DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). She helps people with relationship issues and family problems, with the goal of letting the client be the master of their own life.

“People have the skills. I’m here to guide them to get the results they want,” she said. “I let them  have their own autonomy by creating a safe space without judgment so they can feel comfortable.”

Anne earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies and her master’s degree in Social Work, both at Ohio State University. She is married and loves to hike, jog, and spend time with friends. She enjoys watching movies in her free time and is particularly fond of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World series of films.

Andrea M. C. Johnson, LISW-S

Clinical Social Worker

Andrea Johnson works part time as a therapist at Lowenstein & Associates and also as a full-time school social worker at Groveport Madison High School. Prior to taking on these roles, she spent 15 years as a therapist at Buckeye Ranch, primarily working with middle school and high school students. Not surprisingly, she has a great deal of experience working with adolescents and families. At Lowenstein & Associates, she has focused on adults in their 20s and 30s, but is open to working with all ages. She uses CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to help individuals with depression, anxiety, and grief, and occasionally does some couples therapy and custody counseling.

“I like to meet my clients where they’re at, and I’m here to advocate for them and help them any way that I can,” she said. “I really enjoy helping people, and if I can be an outlet for them, then that’s what I’ll do.” With that in mind, Andrea strives to keep it real and not sugar-coat things for her clients. “I want to share that I’m a real person, and I don’t want my clients to feel like I’m above them,” she added.

Originally from Holland, Michigan, Andrea earned her bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University and then earned her master’s degree in Social Work at Ohio State University. She enjoys sports and travel, but much of her free time is devoted to running. She is trying to run a half marathon in all 50 states, and after completing 39, she’s well on her way.
